Finance Coordinator

About the role

Plan International is seeking a Finance Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations across Liberia. Based in Ganta, the role will ensure financial processes align with the organisation’s policies and support timely, accurate reporting for programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate country‑wide accounting activities, including journal entries, ledger maintenance and month‑end close.
• Apply Plan International financial policies, procedures, budgeting and cash‑forecasting guidelines.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports on a monthly and annual basis.
• Monitor project cost control, ensuring expenditures are recorded correctly and within approved budgets.
• Support the Country Finance Manager and PIIA Manager with financial analysis and compliance checks.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Experience in managing financial operations within an NGO or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cash forecasting and project cost control.
• Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and maintain high standards of compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and reports.
