Human Resources Officer (P) – Expedited Recruitment

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Liberia seeks a Human Resources Officer (P) to coordinate HR functions across the Country Office and its sub‑offices. Reporting to the Resources Management Officer and under the supervision of the Chief of Mission, the officer will ensure HR services comply with IOM policies and support the mission’s migration programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and monitoring HR management services, maintaining personnel files, attendance records, and the HR & Training database.
• Coordinate payroll preparation for national staff, monitor contractual status, and ensure timely administration of entitlements and benefits.
• Support recruitment processes, onboarding, performance management, and staff development activities.
• Prepare administrative and special HR reports, address audit recommendations, and participate in HR projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field with at least two years relevant experience, or a university degree with four years experience.
• High computer literacy, experience with HR IT systems, and ability to prepare training modules and presentations.
• Familiarity with UN common system or similar HR frameworks is an advantage.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); knowledge of another UN official language is a plus.
