Budget Analyst – Financial Planning

About the role

The Budget Analyst will support the organization’s financial planning by preparing, reviewing, and monitoring budgets across programs and grants. Working closely with finance, program, and people teams, the analyst ensures budget accuracy, compliance with donor requirements, and effective cost allocation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate NO support cost, area program, and grant/project budgets.
• Upload and validate budget data in Horizon, Impaq, Sun System and other financial platforms.
• Manage Labor Distribution Reports (LDRs), including adjustments and journal entries.
• Monitor PBAS commitments, reconcile data with Horizon, and produce status updates for management and donors.
• Implement cost allocation methodologies for shared services and support functions.
• Track cost recovery performance, monitor Support Cost Reallocation (SCR) ratios, and prepare analysis reports.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or equivalent.

Required skills

• Experience with Horizon financial system.
• Experience with Impaq financial system.
• Experience with Sun System financial software.
• Familiarity with PBAS (Planning, Budgeting and Accountability System).
