Finance Associate (G-5) – Monrovia

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Finance Associate (G‑5) to support its financial operations in Liberia. Reporting to the Resource Management Officer and directly to the Finance Officer, the incumbent will ensure accurate financial management in line with IOM policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing financial resources, monitoring assets, reserves, funds and supplies according to IOM rules.
• Support the preparation of the annual budget, including staff costs, rentals, utilities, office equipment, supplies and other operating expenses.
• Maintain financial records, perform account reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with financial reporting to donors and internal stakeholders.
• Utilize SAP (or other financial management systems) for transaction processing and data entry.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field with at least three years of relevant professional experience, or a high school diploma with five years of experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a distinct advantage.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, discretion and ability to work in a multicultural, humanitarian environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with financial management systems such as SAP, Oracle or PRISM.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and stakeholder communication skills.
