About the role
The Finance Officer will support the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Project by overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing analytical insight to drive effective project implementation.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor overall project finances and ensure alignment with GAAP and local regulations.
- Process vouchers, record journal entries, and manage project advances and mobile‑money transfers.
- Prepare and review financial reports, conduct data analyses, and support internal and external audits.
- Identify and investigate unusual transactions, maintain data integrity, and uphold internal controls.
- Coordinate weekly liquidation of travel and other advances, and manage filing of financial documents.
- Communicate financial information clearly to management, staff, and beneficiaries.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of financial management, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control fundamentals.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
