Handyman – Facilities Maintenance (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Church in Monrovia seeks a dedicated Handyman to maintain and improve its facilities. This full‑time position supports worship spaces, classrooms, and administrative areas, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and welcoming for members.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex maintenance issues across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and deep‑cleaning domains.
• Lead small teams or projects, coordinating with the Church Security Department for localized safety guidance.
• Communicate effectively with church leaders, vendors, and external partners to schedule work and obtain resources.
• Operate in moderate to high‑risk environments, adhering to safety protocols and legal standards.
• Maintain inventory of tools, chemicals, and cleaning equipment, ensuring proper usage and storage.

Required profile

• CTC II or HND in Building Construction, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, deep cleaning).
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact tactfully with leadership and staff.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, crawl, bend, squat, and lift objects up to 23 kg.
• Proficiency with industrial cleaning chemicals and commercial‑grade equipment.
