Handyman – Monrovia, Liberia (Full-Time)

About the role

The Handyman will support the church facilities in Monrovia, ensuring spaces for worship, teaching, and community activities are safe, functional, and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve complex maintenance issues across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and cleaning domains.
• Lead small projects or processes, providing expertise and guidance to team members.
• Coordinate with the Church Security Department to deliver localized security guidance, training, and support.
• Network with local law‑enforcement, embassy personnel, and NGO security managers to ensure appropriate assistance for the facility.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety and building standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee external service contracts.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff on maintenance best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Required profile

• CTC II or HND in Building Construction/Electricals or a related qualification.
• Minimum three years of facilities maintenance experience covering electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and deep cleaning.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, able to interact tactfully with leadership, vendors, and employees.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift objects up to 23 kg.
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer applications.
• Fluent English for general communication, training, and safety documentation.
• Professional attitude, teamwork orientation, and a positive work ethic.
