Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will support FHI 360’s STRIDES activities in Liberia by ensuring robust data collection, quality assurance, analysis, and reporting. The role involves training program staff, collaborating with the Ministry of Health, and strengthening monitoring systems to improve health security decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operationalize the project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework, tools, and reporting processes.
• Collect, validate, clean, analyze, and report project data to track progress against indicators and targets.
• Maintain routine monitoring systems and databases for timely, accurate, and high‑quality reporting.
• Develop and update data collection tools, reporting templates, dashboards, trackers, and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct data quality assessments, verification, supportive supervision, and audits to improve data quality and accountability.
• Support analysis and visualization of surveillance, laboratory, preparedness, outbreak response, and program performance data.
• Assist in documenting and disseminating lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation within health programs, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to train staff on data collection and quality assurance procedures.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with ministries, health institutes, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
