Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our finance function within a mercantile/trading environment. The role combines strategic financial analysis, system oversight, and audit coordination to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, providing strategic insights to management.
• Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow and management reporting processes.
• Set up, maintain and improve accounting systems, procedures and internal controls.
• Oversee financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and taxation requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure audit findings are addressed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in the mercantile/trading sector.
• 3–5 years of audit experience (external or internal).
• Proven leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with computerized accounting and ERP/MIS systems.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, taxation and internal controls.
