Technical Director – STRIDES Liberia

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Technical Director to lead the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) programme in Liberia. The role will guide technical strategy, ensure alignment with United States Government (USG) global health security priorities, and oversee delivery of all technical components from initiation through closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and direction for the STRIDES project in Liberia.
• Monitor technical delivery against work‑plan milestones and coordinate closely with the Government of Liberia (GoL) and other stakeholders.
• Develop country‑specific workplans, budgets, and high‑quality deliverables, including reports and success stories.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, GoL policies, and FHI 360 procedures.
• Respond to donor and GoL technical inquiries and manage timely submissions.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including training and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams in global health or infectious disease detection.
• Familiarity with USG global health security priorities and normative guidelines.
• Experience working with national health ministries and coordinating multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
• Strong ability to develop workplans, budgets, and high‑quality technical reports.
