About the role
Mercy Corps is seeking an experienced Chief of Party (CoP) to lead a five‑year USDA McGovern‑Dole Food for Education program in Liberia. The role is contingent on donor funding and will oversee a budget of $10‑35 million, aiming to improve school‑age children’s literacy and nutrition practices.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall vision, strategy and work plan for the Food for Education program.
- Provide strategic leadership, quality assurance and oversight for all program activities, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and in compliance with USDA and Mercy Corps policies.
- Supervise all program staff, manage contracts, budgets and reporting requirements.
- Represent the program with USDA, other donors, government entities, partners and stakeholders.
- Identify and develop new initiatives that advance program objectives and foster a culture of learning and adaptation.
Required profile
- Extensive experience managing large, donor‑funded development programs, preferably in education, nutrition or agriculture sectors.
- Proven track record of leading multi‑disciplinary teams in complex, multi‑year projects.
- Strong understanding of USDA regulations, donor compliance and international development best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
