Finance Officer – Humanitarian Organization

About the role

The Finance Officer will join Catholic Relief Services' finance team in Sinkor, Liberia, supporting the management of accounting systems, policies and procedures. This role ensures compliance with CRS accounting standards, GAAP, donor regulations and local legal requirements while delivering high‑quality financial services for humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and support documentation of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain data required for processing transactions in the Insight financial accounting package.
• Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorisations.
• Monitor accounts for irregularities and assist in corrective actions.
• Evaluate sub‑recipient financial management processes and help build their capacity.
• Prepare delegated financial reports and share relevant information with sub‑recipients and internal staff.

Required profile

• Experience in finance or accounting, preferably within humanitarian, development or nonprofit settings.
• Familiarity with GAAP, donor rules and financial reporting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Commitment to CRS’s safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct.
