Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to lead M&E processes for the STRIDES program in Liberia. The officer will ensure that performance indicators, data collection, and reporting are carried out accurately across geographic and sectoral areas, supporting evidence‑based decision‑making and outbreak preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operationalize the project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework, tools, and reporting processes.
• Collect, compile, validate, clean, analyze, interpret and report project data to track progress against indicators and targets.
• Maintain routine monitoring systems and databases to guarantee timely, complete and high‑quality reporting.
• Develop, update and apply data collection tools, reporting templates, dashboards, trackers and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct data quality assessments, verification, supportive supervision and data audits to improve data quality and accountability.
• Support analysis and visualization of surveillance, laboratory, preparedness, outbreak response and program performance data.
• Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, success stories, technical briefs and other knowledge products.
• Provide higher‑level administrative support for core project operations and assist the MEL Advisor.
• Collaborate with the Ministry of Health, National Public Health Institute of Liberia, county health teams, implementing partners, laboratories and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) within health or public‑health projects.
• Ability to train program staff on indicator tracking and data collection procedures.
• Proven experience working with ministries of health, public‑health institutes and implementing partners.
