Process Specialist – SCM

About the role

The Process Specialist – SCM will lead the review and optimisation of strategic sourcing processes for materials, goods, services and capital expenditures across ArcelorMittal Liberia’s operations. The role focuses on improving efficiency, removing non‑value‑adding steps and applying best‑in‑class practices to support the mining and steel production segments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing projects for assigned commodities (e.g., MRO, capital spares, industrial gases, services), including market analysis, needs assessment, RFP/RFQ development and bidder evaluation.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies using cost‑breakdown analysis and total cost of ownership models to optimise pricing, payment terms and service levels.
• Monitor commodity market trends, supplier financial health and geopolitical factors to identify supply risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Finance to standardise materials and specifications, driving cost reduction through consolidation.
• Periodically review and update SCM processes, adopting best‑in‑class practices and eliminating non‑value‑adding steps.
• Draft, review and finalise commercial contracts with Legal, ensuring clear terms, scope of work and performance clauses.
• Manage key supplier relationships, monitor performance against contractual KPIs and conduct regular business reviews.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with ArcelorMittal’s Code of Conduct, governance rules, ethical sourcing policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Experience leading end‑to‑end sourcing projects for commodities such as MRO, capital spares, industrial gases or services.
• Proven ability to develop negotiation strategies and perform cost‑breakdown and TCO analyses.
• Familiarity with supplier performance monitoring, contract management and risk mitigation.
• Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to monitor market trends and supplier financial stability.
