Assistant Geology – Quality Control (QC)

About the role

The Assistant Geology – Quality Control supports mining operations by ensuring accurate sampling, grading, and monitoring of ore and finished products. You will work closely with geologists, supervisors, and production teams to maintain high standards of material quality and minimize dilution.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and label QC samples from ore faces, pits, drill rigs, and ROM stockpiles following SOPs.
• Assist in marking ore blocks and monitoring geological boundaries to reduce ore loss.
• Maintain accurate sample records, organize batches, and dispatch them to the laboratory.
• Monitor ROM stockpile quality, verify correct material tipping, and support blending strategies.
• Perform routine sampling of finished products and train loads, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to adjust feed or blending as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improving grade‑control methods and sampling practices.

Required profile

• Experience in mining or geological sampling environments.
• Attention to detail and strong record‑keeping abilities.
• Ability to work safely and follow SOPs.
• Effective communication for pre‑shift meetings and cross‑team collaboration.
