CNC Manual Turner / Cylindrical Grinder

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time manual machinist to produce high‑precision components using a Hardinge Super‑Precision lathe together with Jones & Shipman 1311 and Myford MG12 machines. The role focuses on small‑batch and second‑operation work, delivering parts to tight tolerances for ISO and aerospace applications.

Key responsibilities

• Turn precision parts, leaving a grinding allowance.
• Perform burn‑free grinding of heat‑treated components.
• Final turning of parts after grinding.
• Machine a variety of low‑volume parts.
• Polish parts before plating to achieve a high‑quality surface finish.
• Polish plated parts prior to final inspection.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained, highly skilled manual turner/cylindrical grinder.
• Experience working to high tolerances in ISO and aerospace quality environments.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery targets.
• Resourceful team player willing to cover occasional absences.
