Heavy Duty Driver – Mining Operations

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Heavy Duty Driver to operate trucks, trailers and specialised machinery within our mining operations. The role involves transporting materials safely, performing vehicle inspections and supporting logistical tasks on a rotating day‑and‑night schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy‑duty vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to transport materials and equipment.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks (fuel, tire pressure, brakes, fluids).
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance activities.
• Load and unload heavy materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure cargo handling.
• Report vehicle malfunctions, damages or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety standards and company transport policies.
• Adhere to safety protocols when operating in hazardous or off‑road conditions.
• Assist with additional logistical tasks as assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma and a valid driver’s licence.
• Proven experience operating heavy‑duty vehicles, preferably in a mining environment.
• Working knowledge of mining site safety, truck maintenance and road safety regulations.
• Physical ability to load, secure and unload cargo under various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, ability to work independently with limited supervision and under pressure.
• Willingness to work day and night rotations and adapt to irregular hours.
