Senior Parts Planning & Inventory Optimization Consultant

About the role

A consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Parts Planning & Inventory Optimization Consultant to support a Parts Availability Improvement Program in Liberia. The role focuses on improving spare parts availability, planning effectiveness, inventory performance and supply chain reliability. The consultant works closely with the Workstream Lead and business stakeholders to identify, develop and implement practical solutions in a complex operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and improve spare parts planning processes and practices.
• Drive inventory optimization and critical parts management initiatives.
• Improve MRP effectiveness, replenishment planning and inventory governance.
• Support supplier performance, backorder reduction and open PO recovery initiatives.
• Leverage SAP MM and MRP functionality to improve planning and inventory visibility.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Coach and develop internal planning and supply chain teams.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, governance routines and management reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years' experience in parts planning, inventory management, materials management or supply chain planning.
• Strong background in spare parts management and inventory optimization.
• Proven experience leading improvement initiatives and delivering measurable business results.
• Ability to work across multiple functions and manage competing priorities.
• Advantageous to have West African or sub-Saharan Africa expatriate experience.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with SAP MM, MRP, inventory management and purchasing processes.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication, assertiveness, attention to detail and accountability for results.
