Chief Engineer – General Cargo Vessel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a general cargo vessel flagged in Finland. This senior position involves full responsibility for the engine room, operating independently to ensure safe and efficient vessel propulsion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all engine room equipment, including the MAK 6M453C main engine (2200 kW).
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee routine and emergency maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate technical logs and reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Chief Engineer, capable of working alone in the engine room.
• Valid STCW certificates and a current medical certificate.
• Strong command of English.
• Willingness to obtain the Finnish endorsement.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of MAK 6M453C engine.

What we offer

• Net salary of $8,000 per month.
