Technical Director – STRIDES Program (Liberia)

About the role

The Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Liberia Technical Director leads the technical components of the STRIDES activity, ensuring alignment with United States Government global health security priorities and Liberian national standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical oversight and direction for the STRIDES project in Liberia.
• Monitor technical delivery against work‑plan milestones and coordinate closely with the Government of Liberia and other stakeholders.
• Develop country‑specific work plans, budgets, and technical deliverables that meet USG and donor requirements.
• Ensure high‑quality reporting, including work plans, ad‑hoc reports, and success stories.
• Respond to donor and government inquiries on technical matters and manage related documentation.
• Guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including training and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical programs in global health security or infectious disease detection.
• Strong knowledge of USG and Liberian health system policies, protocols, and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government partners, donors, and multi‑sectoral teams.
• Excellent project management skills with a focus on delivering results on schedule and within budget.
