Project Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The Project Officer, MEAL supports the implementation and monitoring of project monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities. Working closely with project staff, partners and community stakeholders, the officer ensures accurate data collection, quality checks and timely reporting to improve project impact.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement MEAL activities according to the project implementation plan, CRS standards and donor requirements.
• Maintain indicator‑tracking tools, databases and reporting mechanisms; support routine field monitoring and data collection.
• Document implementation challenges, data gaps and emerging issues, and assist with follow‑up actions.
• Manage feedback, complaints and response mechanisms, ensuring community concerns are recorded and addressed.
• Prepare inputs for project reports, dashboards, case studies and other MEAL products.
• Identify capacity gaps and deliver training, coaching and technical assistance to staff and partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Sociology, Statistics, MEAL or related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience implementing MEAL for public health, agriculture, nutrition or WASH programs.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in the local language; willingness to travel up to 25% to remote sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word).
• Experience with statistical packages such as SPSS or STATA.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
