Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Specialist

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Specialist supports the YMCA of Liberia - Bong Chapter in tracking the implementation, progress and results of its programs, especially the youth peace service project. The role collects, manages, analyzes and reports program data so that the chapter and its partners can measure progress against objectives, identify challenges and lessons learned, and strengthen program quality. It works closely with program staff, volunteers, students, community members and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning activities across the youth peace service project
• Collect, enter, clean and maintain accurate program data and records
• Assist with field monitoring visits, surveys, assessments and data verification
• Track program activities, indicators, targets, outputs and outcomes
• Analyze data and prepare summaries, charts and reports using MS Excel and KoboCollect
• Help prepare periodic program and donor reports
• Maintain MEL databases, tools and documentation
• Document lessons learned, success stories, challenges and good practices
• Work with program staff, volunteers and community stakeholders to improve data quality and reporting
• Use MEL findings to strengthen program implementation and decision-making
• Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards in data collection and management
• Perform other MEL-related duties assigned by the supervisor
