Project Officer

About the role

The Project Officer supports the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities in the non-profit and NGO sector. The role coordinates field-level operations, keeps stakeholder relationships strong, collects and verifies project data, and makes sure activities follow approved work plans, budgets, quality standards and organisational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Drive project activities in line with approved designs, schedules, budgets and internal standards, and align them with national strategies.
• Oversee on-the-ground implementation, giving technical guidance and administrative support to staff, volunteers and community partners.
• Monitor quality, donor stipulations and organisational policies, and lead planning through timelines, roadmaps and monitoring frameworks.
• Gather, validate and manage project data to measure progress against indicators, outputs and targets.
• Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports for the Program Manager.
• Carry out regular field visits to supervise operations and help field teams.
• Organise coordination sessions with community leaders, government officials and partners.
• Design and deliver training, workshops and awareness campaigns to build capacity.
• Manage procurement documentation, specifications and inventory records, and track asset use and maintenance.
• Identify operational risks and coordinate with external consultants and contractors.
• Maintain beneficiary and attendance records, integrate safeguarding measures and accountability frameworks, and document lessons learned.
